[Action, 9/21-9/25] Level 1 Event

[The 21st]
Anything but a morning person, Chouji wakes up slowly. When he finally stretches and pulls himself out of bed, he freezes. This isn't his room. "Tou-chan! Kaa-chan!" He claps a hand over his mouth after the yell, realizing that if they aren't here, he isn't sure he wants to know who is. Chouji looks around the room, seeing a forehead protector placed on the dresser, right in the middle as if waiting to be put on. It's a ninja's room, then. He picks it up, looks at the symbol, a kanji rather than the Konoha leaf. Not a good sign, given that Chouji has absolutely no idea what village uses a symbol like that.

Things deteriorate from there. If anyone heard the yell and comes to investigate, they'll find a very apprehensive six year old, possibly armed with a kunai if he's found his older self's weapons stash.

When he does get up the nerve to leave the room and explore the floor, he tries to sneak around unnoticed, but it's the equivalent of playing ninja. On a floor of fully fledged ones. None of his attempts are likely to be successful. Anyone in Community Housing 1 is welcome to catch him out during his lackluster attempts at stealth.

22nd-25th
Other days, now that things have been explained to him, Chouji looks for food and will be pleasantly surprised by any new friends. He can probably be found at the convenience store and bakery for snacks, Seventh Heaven for a meal or two, and at the playground by the school playing on his own.

Or pretty much anywhere as long as it isn't in someone else's house. He stays out of the residences. He's open to tagging along after people he met on the first day so handwaving first meetings is also okay.

"Yes. I'm pleased to meet you, Lee-san," he nods respectfully, "but do you know where we are or how to get home?"

And Lee gives his own bow in greeting.

"I... have no idea what of the answer to either question! But we must be somewhere near Konoha... I was just preparing for the chunin exams."

"Good luck in the exams! I'm going to be a shinobi too, but I'm just starting the Academy now."

It's really reassuring having a ninja from home help look for answers.

"Why thank you! If that's so, then I'll wish you luck in starting your Academy! In fact, I can even give you some pointers." He delivers a thumbs up with a shining smile. It's the perfect chance to be a cool, older mentor, like Gai-Sensei taught him.

"Really? Thanks! What kind of pointers? What are we going to practice?" The last thing he remembers from Konoha, Chouji really wanted to play ninja with the other kids. Now he has someone offering to help train him as a ninja. Someone who isn't a clan member or a teacher. It isn't Lee's job to teach him, he's offering on his own. That's every bit as good as playing ninja. maybe better.

Probably best not to practice any of those things in the hallway of the apartment building, though.

"There are a number of pointers! There is much you can learn about youth, after all. But to start... how about you try to catch me!"

And he dashes off - not at full speed, though. Enough so that Chouji could at least almost catch up. Clearly, the hallways of this apartment building is the ideal practice site.

Far be it from Chouji to be the voice of reason when a village ninja is offering to help him train. He takes off running after Lee down the hallway, the slightly ungainly run of a kid with no ninja training and a whole lot of growing still to be done. A big smile is on his face as he pursues Lee through the building.

Perfect. He looks back at Chouji and assumes a look of shock. "You are certainly a fast little ninja! Perhaps you aren't a hundred years too early to catch me." He speeds up slightly.

The smile on his face broadens into an incredulous grin, eyes widening in disbelief. He does his best to put on more speed of his own, chasing Lee further through the building as he asks, "You don't think I'm too slow or clumsy?"

All the other kids in Konoha tell him he is, that his side is always the losing one when they play ninja.

"Of course not!" he says eagerly. "I believe that you have the makings of a fine ninja!"

Thrilled by Lee's faith in him, Chouji returns the thumbs up. "I'll do my best, Lee-san! Will you help train me today?"

If all of Lee's training is fun, like Chouji always hoped playing ninja would be, Lee may have just found himself a willing pupil.
