Lee had been unusually reclusive since his return from home. In the last few weeks, he's perhaps been a bit more social, but with some hesitance. Still, he could never miss the birthday party of a Konoha comrade.

So there he is, doing his best to try to enjoy the atmosphere. With a smile that seems just a bit forced- and occasional laughs that seem even more so. He samples the food as politely as he can and makes sure to smalltalk with everyone else around, but he spends a good amount of time just leaning against a corner with a cup of protein shake.

But he's also afraid of others catching onto his reluctance to be social. So every half hour, he abandons his corner and makes several great, leaping bounds across the party, with just bits of his drink spilling in the process, in order to move himself to a different corner. That way, they will never detect his sorrow.
