Chouji hesitates before he asks, "What about you? What's the last thing you remember?" He doesn't ask if she wants news, but Chouji will tell Temari anything she wants to know. He assumes her questions would refer to her brothers or to the situation overall. Temari is much easier to face than his own teammates or the members of Team Gai. And if she doesn't want to hear any mention of future events, he'll respect that too.

"Alright, I'll ask Shikamaru about the politics." The last word she says makes him pause. "Innocuous?" He raises his eyebrows. Chouji really doesn't see how being kidnapped and used as a test subject could fit that description. "How so?"
